| The Northeast region of Iran
has a long history in Persian carpets. Mashad (Meshad) is known
for a religious historical site - the sanctuary of Imam Reza.
The carpets made in this city are characterised by their design
being crowned with the shapes of natural flowers. They produced
large rugs with colours consisting of dark reds, wines and blue.
Their center medallion rugs are meticulously constructed. |
