| There are many unique styles
of carpet made in the Northern region of Iran, which is known
for its greenery and its historical scenes. All of the carpets
from this region are tribal styles and therefore have triangular
patterns. The Kurds are nomadic tribes who live in Northern
Iran around the Turkish border. Their rugs are knotted on narrow
looms with a wool foundation. They are heavily influenced by
the Caucasian rugs and are generally geometric. |
